Never Drain the Pool

Fiberglass pools are specifically engineered to remain filled with water at all times. It is essential never to drain the pool unless you have received written authorization from Tallman Pools. Draining the pool without proper approval can result in structural damage to the pool shell. To ensure optimal circulation and maintain pool stability, always keep the water level at the midpoint of the skimmer.

Water Chemistry Balance

Regularly monitor and maintain appropriate pH, alkalinity, chlorine, and calcium hardness levels. This helps protect the gelcoat, prevents staining and scaling, and ensures swimmer safety. Refer to our use and care manual for specific water chemistry requirements.

Cleaning and Skimming

Although fiberglass pools are smooth and resist algae buildup, you should still brush the walls and vacuum the pool weekly to remove debris. Skim the surface regularly to keep it free of leaves and debris.

Filter and Pump Maintenance

Ensure your pool’s filtration system is running efficiently by cleaning or backwashing the filter as needed. Check the pump and skimmer baskets for debris to maintain proper water circulation.
