My wife and I have four children and every year we tried to take a family vacation. Three years ago when it came time to plan our summer trip, we started looking at our options, but due to the economy we had limited choices. Traveling anywhere with a large family is VERY expensive. We started to think about what the kids loved to do on vacation and realized that almost anywhere we traveled, they spent most of their time in the hotel pool. All of the sudden it was like a light bulb went off – Why don’t we get a pool and vacation at home? The kids were extremely excited about this idea even though it meant forgoing our annual trip. So, my wife and I both started doing some research. This is where we ran into two problems. First, pools were a little more costly than we realized and second, because we were so close to summer we didn’t think we could have one installed in time. Through our research we learned that the best pool to purchase was a fiberglass pool and since they can be installed in as little as 3 days, that seemed to take care of our time issue. However, that still left the first issue – money. Because fiberglass pools are top of the line – that could also mean we would be spending top dollar. After many phone calls and appointments with pool companies, it seemed we were on our way back to having a not so exciting vacation and everyone (especially the kids) were disappointed. But, we were still persistent and kept looking “just in case”.
Then my wife came across the Tallman Pools website. She contacted them and they told her about their assisted installation program and their prices were great and within our budget. She was very excited but, at this point, I was still a skeptic. We had already talked to so many pool companies and it sounded a little too good to be true. But, through my wife’s urging, I contacted them myself and it was the best decision I could have made. Everyone that I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and beyond helpful. The owner himself guided me through every aspect of the pool installation and, because they are the manufacturer, the prices they could offer were really amazing. I purchased the pool within a week of my first phone call to them and within two weeks, the project was completed. Their team of installers was highly professional and the finished product surpassed any of our expectations.
Three years have passed and what I have invested in the pool would have been long spent on a few weeks of vacation – with not much to show for it. Instead, we have now spent countless hours in our own backyard enjoying our time together as a family. As the economy continues to look bleak, I know that a vacation for a family of six would not even be an option at this point. Luckily, we have our vacation paradise in our own backyard. We now even have friends and relatives who come to share our backyard as their vacation destination.
As I look back, I realized buying a pool was a terrific decision and buying it from Tallman Pools was the best choice we could have made. So, I wanted to say thank you to everyone at Tallman Pools for guiding me and giving my family a wonderful “vacation” year after year. There really is no place like home!
