What began as a humble backyard project in the 1960s has grown into a trailblazing company at the forefront of fiberglass pool design and manufacturing. While we’ve evolved to meet the changing needs of homeowners, we’ve remained true to our roots, grounded in family values and a dedication to quality.

The Journey of Tallman Pools: From Family Project to Industry Leader

The Beginning

West Seneca, NY – Tallman Pools began as a family project when Ellsworth Tallman built his first backyard pool for his children using a steel wall and vinyl liner kit.

Encouraged by the success of this endeavor, Ellsworth started a small home-based business selling inground liner pools to local families.

As demand grew, he opened his first factory, where he began manufacturing the original Tallman liner and steel wall pool kits.

The business expanded into the wholesale market, supplying pool kits across New York and establishing itself as a trusted name in the industry.

Growth and Expansion

Tallman Pools expanded its retail operations to Atlanta, GA, selling liner kits produced at the Bergen, NY factory.

The company purchased 10 acres in Jonesboro, GA, its current headquarters, and built a 70,000 sq. ft. factory and showroom.

Manufacturing operations commenced in Georgia, producing steel walls and liner kits. Tallman Pools supplied both retail and wholesale markets in the Northeast and Southeast.

Sales offices were opened in Dallas, TX, extending shipping and distribution to the Southwest.

The product line expanded with the development of acrylic spas, diving boards, slides, and the innovative Easy Glass coating system.

Innovation in Fiberglass Pools

Tallman Pools made a groundbreaking shift by introducing the One-Piece Fiberglass Pool.

The company developed an advanced manufacturing process for creating one-piece fiberglass pools and launched 10 unique Freeform and Kidney-shaped models.

Tallman Pools sponsored the Olympics, supporting local swimmer Steve Lundquist, who set five world records in the 100m breaststroke.

Liner production was phased out as the company focused exclusively on fiberglass pools.

Tallman pioneered the assisted installation program, making fiberglass pool installation easier for homeowners.

Expansion of Offerings

The product line grew with the addition of 10 new model designs , including the popular Pool-Spa Combo.

Ed Tallman becomes CEO of Georgia facilities.

Fiberglass spill-over spas were introduced to complement the pool designs.

The company expanded its reach, selling directly to homeowners and building a robust dealer network across the Southeast.

A new fiberglass pool manufacturing facility was built in New Jersey to serve the Northeastern market.

Tallman Pools sponsored swimmer Kevi Thiem's successful English Channel swim, further cementing its community involvement.

National Footprint

A new fiberglass pool factory was established in Texas to cater to the Southwest market.

The Jonesboro facility was expanded with a new corporate office and additional manufacturing capabilities.

The product line continued to grow, adding 10 new custom pool models and expanding the spill-over spa selection.

Tallman Pools gained national recognition when it was featured on World's Greatest! productions.

Award-Winning Innovation

The company introduced 14 new pool models, including a few more Pool-Spa combinations along with the highly sought-after Beach Entry designs.

Tallman Pools won 20 awards from the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, highlighting its industry leadership.

A new sales office was built in Georgia, and the company developed eight tanning ledge designs to enhance its product offerings.

2010s award winning innovations for pools

A New Era

Fiberglass pool production doubled, as did the professional staff.

Six new pool designs and four redesigned tanning ledges were introduced, offering even more options for customers.

Today, Tallman Pools boasts a diverse lineup of 50 pool models, 8 spas, and 12 tanning ledges.

The company launched a redesigned website to improve customer experience and continues to lead the industry with innovation and quality.
