The Journey of Tallman Pools: From Family Project to Industry Leader

The Beginning

West Seneca, NY – Tallman Pools began as a family project when Ellsworth Tallman built his first backyard pool for his children using a steel wall and vinyl liner kit.

Encouraged by the success of this endeavor, Ellsworth started a small home-based business selling inground liner pools to local families.

As demand grew, he opened his first factory, where he began manufacturing the original Tallman liner and steel wall pool kits.

The business expanded into the wholesale market, supplying pool kits across New York and establishing itself as a trusted name in the industry.

Growth and Expansion

Tallman Pools expanded its retail operations to Atlanta, GA, selling liner kits produced at the Bergen, NY factory.

The company purchased 10 acres in Jonesboro, GA, its current headquarters, and built a 70,000 sq. ft. factory and showroom.

Manufacturing operations commenced in Georgia, producing steel walls and liner kits. Tallman Pools supplied both retail and wholesale markets in the Northeast and Southeast.

Sales offices were opened in Dallas, TX, extending shipping and distribution to the Southwest.

The product line expanded with the development of acrylic spas, diving boards, slides, and the innovative Easy Glass coating system.

Innovation in Fiberglass Pools

Tallman Pools made a groundbreaking shift by introducing the One-Piece Fiberglass Pool.

The company developed an advanced manufacturing process for creating one-piece fiberglass pools and launched 10 unique Freeform and Kidney-shaped models.

Tallman Pools sponsored the Olympics, supporting local swimmer Steve Lundquist, who set five world records in the 100m breaststroke.

Liner production was phased out as the company focused exclusively on fiberglass pools.

Tallman pioneered the assisted installation program, making fiberglass pool installation easier for homeowners.
