Safety First

Safety Always Comes First

At Tallman Pools, we are deeply committed to ensuring that you and your loved ones have the safest and most enjoyable experience with your fiberglass pool. Swimming pools offer incredible opportunities for recreation and family bonding, but it's crucial for pool owners to be aware of safety precautions. Please take a moment to consider the importance of meeting all safety requirements and discussing additional safety measures with your family.

Here are some essential safety tips for pool owners to keep in mind:

Constant Supervision: Never let your guard down when children are in or around the water. Designate a responsible adult as a dedicated "pool watcher" who can swim and will keep a close eye on swimmers.

Swimming Lessons: Ensure that everyone in your household, especially children, knows how to swim. It's a valuable life skill that can save lives.

CPR Knowledge: Learn CPR so that you can confidently respond during emergencies and potentially save a life. Having this skill is invaluable in poolside safety.

Accessible Communication: Keep a telephone within easy reach of the pool area for immediate access in case of emergencies.

Babysitter Awareness: If you have babysitters, make sure they are well-informed about potential hazards and the importance of continuous supervision around the pool.

Pool Covers: Never use the pool when the cover is partially in place, as it poses a risk of entrapment. Always remove the cover completely before using the pool.

Safe Poolside Setup: Position tables and chairs away from the pool fence to prevent children from climbing into the pool area unsupervised.

Safe Entry: Always enter the pool feet first. Never dive into a pool with a water depth of less than 8 feet. Tallman Pools does not recommend diving or using a diving board in any of our pools.

Rescue Equipment: Ensure that rescue equipment, such as lifebuoys or reach poles, is easily accessible at all times.

Safety Barriers: The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends having a 4-foot barrier, like a fence, around residential pools, complete with a self-closing and self-latching gate.

Secured House Access: If a door from your house leads to the pool, secure it with alarms to prevent children from wandering into the pool area unsupervised.

Remember, these are just a few essential tips to promote safety. We strongly recommend that you and your family review all the safety guidelines provided by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, which can be found at www.cpsc.gov.
